Donald Trump’ insistence tgat the Senate accept his ploy to use recess appointments to bypass the require that the Senate confitm cabinet and other high-level U.S. officials looks like a transparent and blatant attempt to place pro-Russian Trump loyalists in key national security positions.
This is what we might call the Pro-Russian Coup d’Ėtat.
Tusi Gabbard and Matt Goetz, Donald Trump’s nominees for the positions of Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Attorney General, respectively, have two characteristics in common.
Each js singularly unqualified for tge position to which they have been nominated.
AND
Each has been an outspoken voice propagating Russian views.
It is highly likely that neither could be confirmed by the Senate.
There are two possible interpretations of these two nominations.
The first is that Trump unbends to put themm in office using recess nominations.
The second is tgat their nominations are a ploy to place in office other officials who are pro-Putin and pro-Russian.
Republican Senators will soon have to decide whether their loyalty to ((or fear of) Donald Trump is greater than their determination to defend the. National Security of the United States.
At an institutional kevel, they will have to decide whether or not to surrender one of the last bulwarks against the establishment of a pro-Russian dictatorship in the United States.
